Nicole S. Bursey
Nicole has exercised her passion for advocating and serving on behalf of children, families and individuals for more than 25 years. She has served as Executive Director since 2011, and in this role is responsible for budgetary oversight and administration of all aspects of Frisco Family Services' (FFS) strategic direction.
Nicole began her service with FFS in 2006 as Client Services Director. Prior to relocating to Texas, She served as a Policy Research Specialist and reviewed, analyzed and made legislative and policy recommendations to legislators and state agency Directors on behalf of children and families. As a Special Assistant to the Director of the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Community Health and Prevention, Nicole assisted with the overall operation and administrative oversight of Division programs and activities aimed at supporting at risk youth, promoting and improving the health status of families, reducing violence and drug use, promoting self-sufficiency and supporting positive birth outcomes. Nicole holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
She serves on the Advisory Board of Beyond ABC: Assessing Children's Health in the North Texas Corridor and is a member of Texas Health Plano's Public Health Community Council, Frisco Noon Rotary, Leadership Frisco Class 15 and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. She is a Mid-America Public Health Leadership Fellow and has earned a Nonprofit Leadership Certificate. She is also a former member of the City of Frisco's Social Services and Housing Board.
